Overnight stay in Delhi.
After breakfast, your full-day Delhi city tour begins. The capital of India is a city where ancient history and modern life exist side by side on every street.
Start the morning at India Gate, the towering war memorial that honors the Indian soldiers who gave their lives in World War I. The wide lawns and open skies around it make it a great spot to start the day.
Next, head to Red Fort, one of the most iconic symbols of Mughal power. Built by Shah Jahan using red sandstone, this massive fort complex once served as the main residence of Mughal emperors. Inside, you will find audience halls, mosques and beautifully carved passages. From there, walk to Jama Masjid, constructed using red sandstone and white marble alternately, and one of the largest mosques in India. Its vast courtyard can hold thousands of worshippers at one time. Climbing the minaret gives you a wide view of old Delhi.
After lunch, visit the Lotus Temple, a Bahai House of Worship shaped like a blooming flower, surrounded by beautiful gardens and an artificial pond. It is a quiet, meditative place. End the afternoon at Qutub Minar, a 12th-century tower built by Qutub-ud-din Aibak and reflecting a distinct Indo-Islamic architectural style. At 72 meters tall, it remains the tallest brick minaret in the world.
As the sun goes down, head into the narrow lanes of Chandni Chowk, Delhi’s oldest and most famous market. The street food here, the spice shops and the general energy of the place are all part of the authentic Delhi experience. Return to the hotel for dinner. Overnight stay in Delhi.
After breakfast, your driver will take you toward Agra, roughly a 3 to 4 hour drive. Agra is one of the most visited cities in the world and for very good reason. It holds three UNESCO World Heritage Sites within a small area. On arrival, check into the hotel and take a short break before heading out.
Your first stop is Agra Fort, a massive red sandstone and marble complex sitting along River Yamuna. Inside, you will explore Jahangir’s Palace, Khaas Mahal and the grand audience halls. This is also the place where Emperor Shah Jahan spent his final years imprisoned by his own son Aurangzeb, looking at the distant outline of the Taj Mahal through his window.
Next, visit the Tomb of Itimad-ud-Daulah, also called the Jewel Draft or the Baby Taj. The walls here are encrusted with semi-precious stones and the entire structure is crafted in white marble. The Persian-style architecture and intricate inlay work make it one of the most beautiful tombs in India.
After that, head to Mehtab Bagh, a peaceful garden complex on the opposite bank of the Yamuna. From here you get a clear and beautiful view of the Taj Mahal across the river, especially lovely in the late afternoon. Return to the hotel for dinner. Overnight stay in Agra.
Set your alarm early today. This is one of the most rewarding mornings of the entire trip. Drive to the Taj Mahal before sunrise. The Taj at dawn carries a soft golden light that is impossible to describe in words. Whether you have seen it in photographs a hundred times or are completely new to it, standing in front of the real thing is always a different experience entirely. Take your time. Look at it from different angles. Let it sink in.
After your sunrise visit, have breakfast and begin the drive toward Jaipur.
On the way, stop at Fatehpur Sikri, Akbar’s abandoned Mughal capital built in the 16th century. This entire city was constructed in red sandstone and then mysteriously left behind just a few decades after it was built. Walking through it feels like entering a time capsule.
Here you will visit Buland Darwaza, built by Akbar to commemorate his victory over Gujarat. You will also see Diwan-e-Khas, the private audience hall of Akbar, Diwan-i-Aam, his public audience hall, and Jodha Bai Palace, also known as Mariam-uz-Zamani Palace, which beautifully blends Rajput and Islamic architectural styles.
Do not miss the Tomb of Sheikh Salim Chisti, a white marble structure covered in intricate carved marble sheets called jaalis from all sides. It reflects a stunning fusion of Mughal and Hindu architecture. After Fatehpur Sikri, continue your drive to Jaipur. Check into the hotel and rest. Overnight stay in Jaipur.
Jaipur, the Pink City, is one of the most visually striking cities in all of Asia. Built in 1727 by Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II, it was among the first planned cities of South Asia. The pink-painted buildings of the old walled city give it a warm, regal character that no other city in Rajasthan quite matches.
After a refreshing breakfast, your full-day Jaipur sightseeing begins.
Start with Amber Fort, situated on a hilltop above Maota Lake. The reflection of the fort in the still waters below is a stunning sight. Inside, explore Sukh Mahal, Sheesh Mahal (the Mirror Palace), Sila Devi Temple and the beautifully decorated gateways. An elephant ride up the slope is available for those who want to add a royal touch to the visit.
Next, visit Hawa Mahal, the Palace of Winds. This iconic five-story facade with its 953 small windows was designed so that royal ladies could observe street life while remaining unseen. It is one of the most photographed buildings in all of Rajasthan.
Move on to City Palace, sitting in the heart of the old city. It includes Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal. Chandra Mahal offers spectacular views over the city while Mubarak Mahal has now been converted into a museum that houses royal costumes, crowns, armory and many other fascinating items from the former kings.
After that, visit Jantar Mantar, one of the largest astronomical observatories in India, built by Maharaja Jai Singh himself. The stone instruments here are enormous and they still work with remarkable accuracy.
End the day with some shopping in Jaipur’s famous bazaars. Block print textiles, blue pottery, gemstones and Rajasthani handicrafts are available everywhere.
Return to the hotel for dinner. Overnight stay in Jaipur.
This is the day the entire tour has been building toward. Today you will be escorted to the specially designated Holi celebration venue where a large group will be gathered from across India and around the world. The moment you arrive, the welcome begins with refreshing drinks and a warm greeting. And then the colors fly. Gulal, music, dancing, laughter and the kind of joy that is hard to put into words. The celebration runs throughout the day and every single arrangement is taken care of by the tour manager. All you need to do is show up, let go and enjoy every moment of it.
Holi is one of those festivals where strangers quickly become friends. You will find yourself surrounded by people from different countries, all playing together, all covered in color, all sharing the same happiness. It is genuinely one of the most unique travel experiences you can have anywhere in the world. Later in the day, return to the hotel for a relaxing shower and overnight stay in Jaipur.
The tour comes to a peaceful close today. After breakfast and checkout, your driver will transfer you back to Delhi airport or Delhi railway station for your onward journey.
The drive from Jaipur to Delhi takes approximately 5 to 6 hours. You will arrive carrying memories of seven days that covered monuments, history, culture and one of India’s most beloved festivals.
