This 7-days Golden Triangle Tour with Diwali 2026 is planned carefully so you get the best of India’s most famous heritage circuit and its most celebrated festival in one trip. You visit all the major landmarks across Delhi, Agra, and Jaipur at a relaxed pace, and the tour is timed so your Jaipur days fall right on Diwali.
Diwali is not just a Hindu festival in practice. Almost every community takes part in it in some way. Hindu families gather for prayers and worship of Goddess Lakshmi, while friends and neighbours from other communities visit, exchange sweets, and share good wishes for happiness and prosperity. It is genuinely one of those occasions where the whole city feels like it is celebrating together, and Jaipur during Diwali is one of the best places in India to experience it.

You land at Delhi airport and are met by our representative, who transfers you to your hotel. The first day is kept free — no rushing, no schedule. If you feel like stepping out, even a short walk gives you an immediate sense of Delhi’s pace and energy. Overnight in Delhi.
Start at India Gate, then head into Old Delhi for the Red Fort and Jama Masjid. In the afternoon, visit Lotus Temple and Qutub Minar. Dinner at hotel, overnight in Delhi.
After breakfast, drive to Agra. Visit Agra Fort, where Shah Jahan was held prisoner by his son and could see the Taj Mahal from his window. Then see Itimad-ud-Daulah with its delicate marble inlay work, and take a walk at Mehtab Bagh along the river. Overnight in Agra.
Early morning sunrise at the Taj Mahal, the best time to visit. After breakfast, drive towards Jaipur with a stop at Fatehpur Sikri — Akbar’s abandoned Mughal capital, perfectly preserved in red sandstone. Continue to Jaipur. Overnight in Jaipur.
After breakfast, your full day begins with exploring some of Jaipur’s most well-known landmarks.
Start at Jantar Mantar, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the largest stone observatories in the world. Built in the early 18th century, the giant instruments here were designed to measure time, track the sun, and observe planetary movements with remarkable accuracy. It is one of those places that surprises most visitors once they actually spend time inside it.
Next, visit Hawa Mahal, the five-storey “Palace of Winds” built in 1799. The structure was designed specifically so that royal ladies could watch the street life and festivals below without being seen from outside. Its 953 ornate windows and balconies, known as jharokhas, give the facade a distinctive honeycomb appearance that is one of the most photographed views in Rajasthan.
The day ends at City Palace, a large complex in the heart of Jaipur’s old city that served as the seat of the Maharajas of Jaipur for centuries. Part of the palace is still in use by the royal family today, while another section has been opened as the City Palace Museum, housing royal costumes, weapons, manuscripts, and artefacts from Jaipur’s royal past.
Overnight in Jaipur.
Today covers the three historic forts that once formed the outer defence ring of Jaipur, followed by a private Diwali celebration in the evening.
The morning starts at Amber Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the finest examples of Rajput fort architecture in India. Built on a hillside above Maota Lake in the 16th century, the fort combines massive outer walls with beautifully decorated interior palaces and the famous Sheesh Mahal. An elephant ride up to the main gate is one of the more memorable ways to arrive.
From Amber, the tour continues to Nahargarh Fort, which sits on the edge of the Aravalli Hills and looks out over the entire city of Jaipur. Built in the 18th century with a mix of Indo-European architectural details, the views from the walls over Jaipur are among the best in the city.
The last fort of the day is Jaigarh Fort, a large red sandstone structure built between the 15th and 18th centuries. The fort is known for housing Jaivana, one of the largest cannons ever built on wheels, which is still on display today.
Return to the hotel for a rest before the evening.
In the evening, you are taken to a heritage property to celebrate Diwali with a Rajasthani host family. Arrive dressed in traditional attire if possible. The evening begins with Diwali puja, the ritual worship of Goddess Lakshmi, followed by Rajasthani folk music and dance performances, fireworks, and a spread of traditional Indian sweets and savouries. The celebrations also include diyas and candles lighting up every corner of the courtyard, colourful rangoli patterns on the floors, and the warmth of a festival shared with people who genuinely celebrate it. The evening closes with a traditional dinner before you are driven back to the hotel.
Overnight in Jaipur.
After breakfast and check-out, the tour drives you back to Delhi for your international or domestic flight. The journey takes approximately six hours depending on traffic. Your driver will ensure you reach the airport comfortably ahead of your departure time.
Diwali falls on a different date each year based on the Hindu lunar calendar. In 2026 it will be in October. Confirm the exact date before booking so your Jaipur stay falls on the festival evening.
